Knighting Nettle is out and about!

Ciao!

The Ninth Region's second book is out for purchase online.  It is at Inspiring Voices and Amazon.  Just Google it!

Questions to my readers:

Notice the frog Vincent on the cover the first book below and notice him on the Knighting Nettle cover here.  Why do you think I changed his look?

Being curious, think on this. The first sentence is Knighting Nettle is "It looked to be a great time for the coming celebration!" The last sentence in this book is, "Overhead the Raven was flying from tree limb to tree limb watching and waiting for his time to serve and report."

I wonder what happened in between these sentences?  You really do want to know!

Finally got pictures of the Christmas Show I did with some of my family.  They did a dance to "Is that You Santa Claus". Some of the songs sung were Rudolph and Feliz Navida.  Here are some pictures.  Hope you enjoy them.

Back from Singapore!  So much fun going to Chinatown and Little India.  Unique buildings and lots to do!  We went to a park where I did zip line and raced down a hill on a luge. We went to the zoo, where I saved a lizard from certain death from. I even got my picture with the Polar Spirit (I'll post that later).

I can't wait for my plane to take off to the other side of the world!  Singapore, I'm coming to visit. Singapore is in Asia and is an island country. It will be Chinese New Year when I am there with family.  This year the date is February 19 and it is the year of the sheep.  Red is the color of this family holiday. Should be fun.

If you Google Chinese New Year you can get pictures shown on https://www.google.com/search?q=chinese+new+year&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=tQTbVLu3PIOLNpL5gpgD&ved=0CEoQsAQ&biw=1024&bih=642

According to  Infoplease:

"Fireworks and Family Feasts

At Chinese New Year celebrations people wear red clothes, decorate with poems on red paper, and give children "lucky money" in red envelopes. Red symbolizes fire, which according to legend can drive away bad luck. The fireworks that shower the festivities are rooted in a similar ancient custom. Long ago, people in China lit bamboo stalks, believing that the crackling flames would frighten evil spirits.

The Lantern Festival

In China, the New Year is a time of family reunion. Family members gather at each other's homes for visits and shared meals, most significantly a feast on New Year's Eve. In the United States, however, many early Chinese immigrants arrived without their families, and found a sense of community through neighborhood associations instead. Today, many Chinese-American neighborhood associations host banquets and other New Year events."

Hi everyone. Take a look at the cover of the second book in The Ninth Region Series. The black bear is Nettle, the older brother of Gloria and Nathan. The frog is of course Vincent. Vincent is becoming his own "person" and this picture depicts his character growth. What do you all think? It shouldn't be long now!!!
A new adventure is waiting to be discovered.

Happy New Year!  Hope you all had a good break from school.  I had loads of fun.  The younger children in my family did my Christmas show for everyone.  It was a success!  The oldest did a poem that I wrote.  The they all sang Did You Hear What I hear, Rudolph, did a dance number to Louie Armstrong's Is that you Santa Claus.  It was a grand ending when everyone sang Feliz Navidad and pranced around the room wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. We played games, had a good meal and loved being together.

The kids where dressed as elves with sparkly green shirts, red bottoms, and a great hat.
The most important thing was they all had tons of fun.

This New Year is going to be great! I want to hear about all your plans.  You can send me messages privately on this site.  If you can't email me at d.scozzari@yahoo.com.

It was suggested that I do a charity event.  My favorite charities have to do with helping kids.  Maybe we can contribute to sending my books to children's hospitals or underprivileged schools.  I would love to hear about your ideas. Let your parents know what you want to send first.

Talk to you soon and remember to wear your armor and to follow your dreams and see what happens!
