A Fall Adventure
The trees where turning bright colors, but the rain knocked them down to the ground as quickly as they appeared.
Kaylyn went for a walk with a friend.  They like walking in wooded areas in parks or on the streets. It seems dreary to others, but they enjoy the dampness.
But Kaylyn and her friend forgot that it gets dark latter now.  The sun sets sooner every day.  Now it is dark, and they are 30 minutes from home.  The wind was starting to blow stronger and you could just tell it was going to rain hard. Things are not so fun anymore.
Then it happens.  A stranger drives up and offers them a ride.  The driver looks like a mother and the passenger her husband.  While talking to them Kaylyn finds out that the passenger is a brother of the driver and that they both like certain websites on this Fall season.  Kaylyn lets her guard down and tries to talk her friend to take the ride home.
Her friend is not so confident with these people.  She does not know them except from what they said about themselves.  This is not reliable.   She starts to walk off, urging Kaylyn to come along.
Kaylyn is reluctant to take that dark walk home, but she goes with her friend.  Kaylyn is very careful to say thank you for the ride, but they need to stay on the path their parents know them to be on. Just then, Kaylyn's mom stops to pick them up and take them home in her car.
The next day in the news there was an Amber Alert story about a boy and a girl that was out in the same neighborhood walking a dog. The two kids had been walking and never reached home.  Teams of people were our searching for them.  Kaylyn then told her parents about the people that stopped to give them a ride.
Her parents called the police and soon Kaylyn and her friend were giving a description of the man and woman in the car as best they could.  Now the Amber Alert included the description of this couple and their car.
Kaylyn felt sad that these other two kids got taken. She felt oddly guilty.  Her parent sat down and told her she did the right thing to listen to her friend.  That if they hadn’t kept walking, they would be the ones taken. But Kaylyn felt responsible in some way.  She should have said something to an adult while she could still see the car.  Run up to a door of a nearby house, or call on her phone.
Soon her friend was done talking to the police and came and sat next to Kaylyn.  Kaylyn confessed to her friend how she was feeling.  Her friend told her that she was glad that Kaylyn had listened to her last night. She said they were kids, how were they to know if there would be any further consequences that night. Kaylyn responded that they need to look beyond themselves.
Then everyone got excited.  Near the neighborhood there was a field with brush and trees.  The kids where found there hidden.  Both were badly beaten. The girl was messed up bad and the boy had had his own experience. Both were bleeding, brushed, and silently crying. The ambulances where there in seconds and now the police had further description of the two who had done this. The dog was found dead nearby. All the adults were both happy and scared for the two kids. It would take a long time for them to recover from this terrible experience.
At school, the police came to talk to everyone.  Warning them to always be on guard; always be aware of their surroundings and have a plan to scream and run whenever they felt threated. The trick of course is to know if you are being threated.
After school the kids that walked home all came together and said a prayer. “Dear Lord, we know everyone in this world do not love you or follow your laws.  Please help us look for your guidance, receive your protection, and have the wisdom to act on your direction. Please be with our fellow students that need healing. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.”
From then on all the kids walked with a spring in their step, a watchful eye, and did not get distracted off their route without checking in with their parents first.  This was a good thing.
The weather was mild, the wind softly blew the leaves around, and the trees made a gentle rustling noise, but the feeling of Fall was lost.  It is said how one decision can change your life for the better or for the good.  You can’t take it back and do a ‘redo’. This is why it is always a smart thing to allow God to have your back.  What better protector could you have?  Bad things happen but God always keeps you in his loving arms when you ask Him to.

Have you ever thought of where you would like to go see.  What would you like to do for fun.  What would you like to do to honor God.  Let's get started.

What can we experience?

I love the mountains.  They are so high!  Some have trees growing all different colors of green. Others are dry and have brush and rock only. Then again some are so tall that there is always snow and the air is thin (not enough oxygen for us to breath well).  Some are volcanos that have a lake  of fire water (lava) moving about so very far under the ground.

I love forests and woods.  There are not cars, or music, or any other sounds at all but those that come from the wooded area you are in. You discover animal, bugs, flowers, trees, shadows, hidden paths that you would not see if you never ventured into the secret place.

I love the water, salt or spring feed.  It is so much fun to swim, play in the waves, go down a water slide, play water games, and make a sand castle that the water comes in and around with every wave. I love tubing in the rivers or being pulled behind a boat. Just riding in a boat and feel the waves hit you in the face or just relaxing hearing the gentle flow of the water pushing up against the boat.

I love the rain. Rain makes everything come alive.  The sound of a gentle rain is so relaxing. The spiking hard rain of a storm with wind that can move you. The light and sound show is so full of wonder and the hard wind is fun to walk in.  Just stand still and not move at all; I bet you can't.

I love night. I love the moon light, so mysterious; the sounds of the crickets and the stillness that comes from many creatures fast asleep.

I love the day.  When the sun warms your skin and activities outdoors are liberating. Or in winter the everyday is a new world to wake up to.  Is it raining? Is it snowing? Is it an ice storm? The clouds move so gracefully; to watch them you can make up a whole imaginary world of your own. Do we have to go to school today?

I love fire.  It dances and just takes over you mind in a way that nothing else can.  It also warms you on those really cold days.

These are a few of the things that spark ideas and sooths my spirit.  It is a great to enjoy God's hand work of creation personally.  It put you in awe of God's imagination and creativity and power.

But never forget that this is earth and not heaven so for each of these wonders there are things to be careful about. In the mountains you could fall badly or get frost bite. In the forest and woods you could get lost or walk into a poisons snake. In the water the currents could pull you under or you could get caught by a strong wave. The rain can become a storm where lighting, wind, and flooding becomes very dangerous. The night can be scaring.  You could get lost, or fall because you can't see where your feet are stepping. The day can be too hot. You can get sick, sunburned, wind burned, or dehydrated. Fire is just as scaring as it is beautiful.  It can burn and destroy just about anything, if left uncontrolled.

There is good and bad in all things.  This world is not heaven  We can honor our God by treating it with Godly wisdom and the respect it deservers . Then this world can be a awesome experience to live in. But moderation and wisdom must always be present.  And never forget that other's lives do not have what you have.  We all live the life we are born to, but we can always become what ever God puts in our hearts that we want to be.  Follow your dreams and see what happens.

The whole story with minor changes.  Still looking for a title.  Give me your ideas at d.scozzari@yahoo.com

CHAPTER ONE

The sun was not quite up yet.  There were shadows all over from the little bit of moon light left in the sky. Sara, the owl, was flying around for her last sweep of the area for some food before nesting in her tree when she saw it!

Sitting together in awe was Anabella, the fox, Corrina, the tiger, and Lillian, the black bear.  What they were all looking at was this flare, like fire, coming right out of a hole in the ground.  The flare wavered as fire does and would stretch up high in the air at times.

Everyone was uncomfortable with this flare and yet they did not leave but surrounded it.  After all a fox, a tiger, and a bear were rare companions.  In fact, they were not companions at all! Each kept its distance from the others, being ready to pounce or run away.  The flare mesmerized them in such a way that the power to look into the fire was stronger than the power to depart.

It looked as though an entity was appearing in the flare.  To Corrina it looked like a tiger.  To Anabella the entity looked like a fox.  To Lillian it looked like a vaporous black hole.

No one but Sara, who was now perched in a tree, saw the icy cold water nearby wave up and show a partial head; two ears and two eyes staring at the flare from the water.  If you looked closely enough Sara could see a black wet nose, but she could not tell if it belonged to the ears and eyes.

Anabella and Corrina began to get upset with each other.  Shoving, pushing, and growling.  It was not long before Anabella ended up in the water.  When she emerged not only was she shaking wet but she had an addition to her head. Cold and slimy, the creature was hanging on so not to fall.  But fall it did, right into the fire. Burned, the creature yelled in anguish. Anabella smelled the burned thick skin and thought it would taste really good, but for some reason she did not act on that.  Instead she carried the creature by its neck in her mouth back to the cold water to try to decrease its pain.

The seal said, “I am Dianna. This flare has increased and I am fearful of it. I live in the water with my family of seals, but this flare, even though it stays on out of the water, it has a power.”

Lillian coward over the whole scene.  She did not know what to do. Maybe, she thought, she should just run away. The little black bear climbed up a tree to put some distance away from her and the flame.

Sarah screeched “What is that coming this way?”  It made Lillian jump and almost fall out of the tree. For the first time the other animals saw that the owl was perch above them.

CHAPTER TWO

Bounding out of the snowy tree line came a massive white creature that had the power to swat them and do them harm.  But Annie the polar bear did nothing but to stare at that same flare that seemed to call to them all.

After some silence, Lillian called to Annie, from the tree she found a haven in, “Is that flare not too hot for you?  You are a creature of this tundra.”

Annie replied, “Yes, it is hot, just like it was to that seal that I would love to eat.”

Dianna squirmed deeper into the water, “What did it say? Does it want to eat me?”

That was when a wolf emerged from the brush that lay around the flare. She announced to the others abruptly, making them all jump, “Why are you all here?  This is my territory! Julissa is my name and you are not welcome!  Why did you bring this strange spectacle to my home? “

“It has nothing to do with you!” sounded off Lillian from her safe perch in the tree, “Or did you create this flare to scare off travelers?  You must be responsible as it is YOUR TERRITORY!”

Julissa responded strongly, “It is not; you are wrong in your accusation Miss ball of black fur.”

Annabella started to bounce around nervously, “Why did you create such a flare?  Maybe you wanted to start a fight for your amusement among other animals?”

Annie roared out so loud, everyone else held their ears, “You do not want to start a fight with me. I the biggest and strongest of us here.”

Responding in kind, Julissa said, “You may be the biggest and strongest but wolves are fast and strong in numbers.  My pack will be here soon. You had better be careful of what you say in your arrogance!’

CHAPTER THREE

It was too late in the day for Sara to get involved in this nonsense. She went to sleep in the tree as she did every day.  Lillian stayed hanging on to the tree she had climbed. Dianna stayed alert in the water, keeping an eye on the mysterious flare, and the Polar Bear. Finally, after pacing about around the flare, and each other, Corrina and Anabella settled down far from the others.

Julissa, however, stood listening and watching and waiting.  She was deciding what to do.  She, as a wolf, could take on the fox, eat the seal, and scare the black bear in the tree.  But Annie and Corrina would definitely be a problem.  Besides, what was this flare in the middle of nowhere?  It puzzled her?

It was many hours later that the flare started to dance in the wind.  Getting stronger it roared in it power of heat and gas.  Out of this flare now the animals started to see an image of a young man. His hair was made of fire. His hands were made of fire, as well. He began to mourn.  Every time this creature’s mouth made a sound the flare would soar up higher into the sky.

All this noise and light woke up Sara from her deep sleep.  She turned her face toward the flare and asked, “Who are you?”

The fire man could not answer but continued to moan as if it was in pain. As the man’s wailing became louder and he became more agitated. The flare reached the tree tops and actually started an old dead branch on fire.

This made Lillian jump down from the tree, as she did not feel safe there anymore.  But she didn’t feel safe on the ground either as she landed right on top of Corrina. The tiger took a snap at her and actually got a mouth full of black fur.

CHAPTER FOUR

Sara said, “We can’t keep going on like this.  Either we all move on and leave this creature of the earth alone or we try to talk to it.”

At that moment Dianna had something to say.  Everyone had forgotten about the seal in the water, as she was mostly submerged, quietly in the dark icy water.  “What if this flare means no harm to us at all?  None of us get along, we are mostly enemies.  There is no trust between us.  That does not mean that this is the way of this, this, Fire Prince.”

“Fire Prince?  You are taking liberties seal of the water giving it a name.  I am a tiger and can overcome all foes,” Corrina retorted.

Firmly Annie stated, “But I am the strongest and biggest here.  No one can brag of might more than me.”

Julissa just had to interject, “If this is a contest, I would surely win.  My will is not to be denied.”

As they argued amongst themselves the flare became larger as the Fire Prince’s moans and groans vibrated the ground. Annie hid behind Julissa and Anabella started to pace again.  In her agitation she miss stepped and come in contact with the flare.  Burning her foot, put it in the cool water to nurse it.

Some more dead branches and brush caught on fire. Now there was fire everywhere!  Or it surly seemed so. Corrina started to move around like a caged tiger, feeling trapped by the fire surrounding them.

CHAPTER FIVE

“It is up to me.”, Dianna softly said. No one heard her but Sara.

Sara asked, “What do you think you can do?”

“It is up to me, I am the one. I am the one.”

With that, Dianna pulled herself on to the shore and started to whisper to the Fire Prince in a soothing manner. As she did the flare became smaller.  Soon the other animals stopped acting defiantly with each other. It was Dianna they watched.

Being impatient Corrina roared, “What is going on here?  I am tired of this!”

In reaction to Corrina the Fire Prince ignited into a hug fire, burning onto it self, and became so large that even the tall trees seemed small.  Flames came out of his eyes and the heat of his fire grew so hot it singed everyone’s hair or feathers.

“Be quiet you foolish tiger.” Diana demanded.  “The Fire Prince does not want to harm you, but you scare it with your noise and sudden movements! Please be quiet and calm.”

As Diana went closer to the Fire Prince, the fires went out around them. The flare decreased in size.  It became so small you could see the crack in the earth that the flame was coming from.  Sara flew over it and saw the actual rock under the ground burning so hot it was orange yellow in color.

She quietly said, “The rock is alive, moving as a body of water flowing down a mountain.  It is very much alive!”

“The poor thing has not where to go.”  Diana said sadly.

“Poor thing, I don’t think this is a poor thing as it is made up of heat and can grow at will.” voiced Julissa.

“I will go.” Diana stated.

“You will go where?” everyone responded in sync.

Diana explained, “He is trapped inside this rock we stand on and cannot move on through the cracks far underneath the ground. I am wet and cold to the touch.  I will cool the Fire Prince down so he can travel through the cracks and move on.”

“But you will never come back”, shouted Lillian.

Dianna exclaimed, “I would be a meal to most of you had things been different! What do you care what I do? There is a resolve building in me to do this for him. I cannot explain it, but it is compelling.”

“But it will hurt!” Lillian cried.

“It would seem this is what I am meant to do.” Dianna said as she went into the crack that the Fire Prince came from.

CHAPTER SIX

It was all over.  The Fire Prince disappeared.  Dianna disappeared.  The ground slowly filled in with dirt so there was nothing to see. The big and cleaver animals all just stood in awe that a helpless seal could act is such a way.  They pondered it.  One by one each went their way.  First to leave was Julissa.  Then Anabella bounced off.  Next to go was Annie, as Corrina went in the other direction.  All was left was Sara and Lillian. Sara flew down to the ground and said, “It is puzzling why Diana did what she did.”

Lillian replied, “She was happy to give her life.  Maybe she did not give her life, but became a part of the hot flowing rock?”

As the owl and black bear moved on, Sara looked down into the cold water that once was Diana’s home.  In the water she saw an image of a Prince playing in the water, no longer in trapped, but free to move at will.

Short story from last year!  This year's story to follow soon!
Really enjoyed my time with you all!

A Freak Winter Storm
Let me know what you think, KBB club members!

Chapter One

The winds whipped across the northern lands where two snow leopards found themselves. They were not native to of this northern area they found themselves in and wished to get turned around. It appeared to each that the wind and the terrain separated them from their sought after home.

Now these two snow leopards were from the same area of the world. They actually knew of each other, but they were not together. Actually they were not even friends. Ice Lynns was a beauty. She had a beautiful white coat. Ice Lynns was very aggressive and kept her welfare above all else. Jasmine, however, was more friendly. She had mothered several young cats in the past. Her coat was not a beautiful as Ice Lynns, but she prided herself on being fair. Neither of them could roar, but they did manage some hisses, chuffing, mews, growls, and wailing.

Now by a freak winter storm they found themselves trapped in this land of isolation. But as they traveled around aimlessly to find their way home they saw something unique. There were two lands of the north that were connected by ice during the coldest part of winter. It was at this time that the two snow leopards made their way over the icy bridge to a land not known to them.

Once the snow leopards arrived to the other side of the ice bridge, they met creatures new to them. As they hide in a snow drift, they watched as these local animals interacted. It became apparent that the varied lives of these native animals did not make them all friendly to each other.

Chardon was an arctic fox. Not being a very large animal, he was very flexible and would pounce on small animals that moved under the cover of the snow. But he was not the only creature that loved small game. Sophia would swoop down from the air. Because of her mostly white feathers, she would come almost unseen until she grabbed her prey and flew away to consume it. Sophia was an arctic owl. Many times Chardon would find his meal only for Sophia to snatch up right from him as he brought it out of the snow.

Other animals of this area, new to the leopards, were a wolf named Qwade and a polar bear named Madina. Now this wolf usually travels with his friends but the same winter storm had separated him from his pack. Qwade’s ability to hunt caribou was severely limited by him being alone. He would have to build an alliance with someone to hunt with.

Ice Lynns and Jasmine observed the fox. He followed the great white bear who was strong, large, mean, and loved the seals that she caught in the cold icy waters of this region. At first Madina, the polar bear, kept turning on Qwade as he tried to follow her into her hunt. But as long as he feed on what was left after she moved on, Madina seemed to tolerate Qwade.

Ice, wind and snow did not bother any of these animals. Not even the creature called a guard. He was also separated from his own kind and looked so very cute, but was so very mean. He had sharp teeth to capture his meal and did not care much what that meal was. His name was Connell.

Now after the snow leopards observed these animals of this northern land they had traveled too, they set their plans in motion. Ice Lynns was out for herself and left Jasmine on her own. She traveled down to align herself with one of these animals. At first she tired to befriend Madina, but the polar bear was already tolerating Qwade shadowing her, so she became very upset when Ice Lynns tried to join the caravan. Then she stalked Qwade at a distance, but always kept the guard in her view. Ice Lynns whispered, “Both these animals can suit me for my hunting. They both seem to be out for themselves as I am. This is a good start.”

Jasmine liked the same food, but was not willing to start a confrontation for it. She decided to slowly befriend Chardon. Although his food target was much smaller, she could satisfy herself with it without starting any kind of fight. It seemed that all of the animals were all wary of each other.

Chapter Two

As these animals found a comfortable tolerance of each other, a new interest and different animal approached the area. She was quite dark brown so she could not hide in the snow drifts. When she approached she let out a great roar and show her nasty teeth. But this brown bear was completely out of place, even more out of place than Jasmine. It was Jasmine’s decision to try to befriend this bear. It would not be easy, but she could use her powerful muscles to help her find larger game. So to that end, Jasmine went over to the bear. First she approached very cautiously. As she approached, it was obvious to her the bear was very scared and knew how conspicuous she was. Jasmine reached out, “Hi brown bear. My name is Jasmine. What is your name?”

The brown bear was tentative. She replied, “I am known as Izzy.”

Jasmine inquired, “You don’t look like you are from around here. Neither am I. My home is far far away and I need a friend. You look like you need a friend too.”

Izzy replied, “Yes you are right, I do not belong here either. I am a small female grizzly and don’t fit in with the others. I am small for my kind and don’t seem to have that mean characteristic that others of my kind have. Finding an area that I can fit in has been hard for me.”

I will stay with you for now to see how we get along if that is ok with you?”

Gratefully, Izzy responded, “That sounds like a good idea.”

Chapter Three

Now during the long day of this area, animals still needed their rest.

During this rest something unexpected happened. The snow started to fly up in the wind with a great deal of force. Sometimes hurting as it touch the animals, it was blowing every which way, making it impossible to see. Izzy laid down and Jasmine covered them as best she could with her furry tail. Ice Lynns and Qwade ended up curling up together to brave out this strong wind. Madina didn’t care and just kept to herself. There was no sight of Sophia who was probably finding shelter elsewhere. Chardon found himself snuggling up with Jasmine and Izzy. Connell, the guard, had no problem with this weather as Madina didn’t and just kept his squited eyes open.

Chapter Four

When the wind settled down, in the mist of them was a dead caribou that the wind had uncovering in its fury. Immediately Madina took it over. Qwade, Connor and Ice Lynns tried to gab some of the meat for themselves.

Madina stated with a roar, “This is my caribou. I will not share until I have had my fill.” Madina tried to keep Qwade the wolf, Connell, the guard, and Ice Lynns away. As hard as she tried, it was impossible to keep track of all three as she ate. Although she tried her best to dominate the caribou, it was impossible to keep them off her prize all of the time.

Sophia returned to pester Chardon for his tasty finds beneath the snow. That left Izzy and Jasmine starving with nothing to eat.

Chapter Five

Out of the shadows of one of the mountains nearby came a very strange sight indeed. There was a snow sled that was slowly coming closer. It was moving to slow for a pack of dogs to be pulling it and the sled was weighted down with something. Jasmine watched Madina. Just as she expected, Madina was keeping her eye on this new prospect of food, but was unwilling to leave her current feast. Next Ice Lynns and Chardon also took notice. They could smell what was the in that sled, more caribou. Jasmine new this was trouble. She ran over to the sled and saw that a man was pulling it himself.

She announced herself saying, “Hi, it would seem you have brought yourself into danger.” By this time Izzy was next to her.

The man yelled back, “Yes I can see that. I was hunting and my dogs were caught in that storm with no shelter. I’m afraid they did not make it, getting buried in the snow. I don’t know you, but the rest of these animals would be happy to take my caribou off my hands. They would probably like to take a taste of me as well.”

Jasmine offered, “My friend here will not hurt you and we both can protect you, but we are hungry too and would like some of your cargo. We don’t want you to get hurt, and will protect you to the best of our ability if you let us feed or not.”

The man responded with a question, “Why would you do that for me?”

Jasmine and Izzy answered together, “Because it is the right thing to do. You are an innocent in this food war that seems to be going on.”

Chapter Six

Qwade and Ice Lynns were approaching the sled from different directions. They slowly made their way making a path of a circle, pacing around and around the man and his sled. They were waiting for the right moment to attack. Soon Connell decided that this looked like fun and joined the group. Sneers and growls came from the three attackers.

Qwade said to his fellow attackers, “This feels like when I would hunt with my extended family of wolves. This is great!”

With all the notice and tension surrounding this scene, Madina decided to leave her dinner and watch as this attack unfolded. She spoke out loud to herself, “I wonder who will be left after the fight. Surely I can take some of this for myself”.

Once Madina started to pay attention, Chardon turned his attention to what was going on. It seemed to be two against three with the polar bear waiting to be backup on her own behalf no matter which way things went. He found a way in to Jasmine and Izzy and said to them, “I am little and can’t do much, but I will help you defend this man.”

Izzy and Jasmine nodded to acknowledge Chardon joining them.

It seemed that the fight was about to start. There were many places for the attackers to get to the sled and the man. Ice Lynns made the first move. She moved closer to the man and started her attack saying, “I can take this group, all of you, on my own. I need no help.” Then she pounced on the man.

Immediately Jasmine leaped into the air to put herself between Ice Lynns and the man. The two snow leopards started to fight each other with all the force they had. This left Izzy to take on anyone else that choose to attack. It was soon Izzy fighting Connell and Qwade. Chardon tried to help by nipping at the feet of the arctic wolf and guard. He did what he could.

This attack grew loud as the fighting became even fiercer. Jasmine seemed to be getting the better of Ice Lynns, but in one move this good hearted cat was put down, bleeding from her belly. She could not get up.

Madina was thinking of grabbing the caribou while every one else was busy, and drag it over to the other one that she had been feeding on. There she could defend all the food for herself for days, but there was no opportunity for her to do so.

It was at this very moment, when the fight seemed hopeless for the man, Izzy, Jasmine, and Chardon when over head you could hear Sophia. Of course she did not like Chardon much. Nor did she care who came out as winners in this fight. But all this noise disturbed her peace and quiet. As long as this stupid fight went on, she would not be able to hunt or sleep. Sophia shouted, “You all need to stop!”

Ice Lynns looked up and responded, “How can you, a mere bird, stop me, a mighty snow leopard, or an arctic wolf’s cunning. You are helpless.”

Well Sophia was not put off by these words of defiance and responded with confidence, “I am not a mere bird. I am an owl. Just meet my friends.” The skies filled up with owls and all other kinds of birds that lived in this region.

The birds were all tired of the land locked animals’ arrogance. All the birds snipped and pecked at the attackers with great frequency, weakening the fierce snow leopard and arctic wolf and guard. Even though the guard had done much damage to the man and the grizzly, it did not seem to be enough. Connell had thought this would be a short and victorious fight, but now he was changing his mind saying so that Madina could hear, “It seems that this battle is turning out to be more than it is worth. I am going to turn away. This is not fun anymore.”

With that Madina and Connell returned to the dead caribou to eat. This made Ice Lynns mad and she shouted sarcasitcly, “You gutless animals. How can you give in so easily? What happened to the great force of the polar bear?”

The polar bear responded, “I don’t care right now, I have all the food I need right here.”

Chapter Seven

As this was going on the attackers got caught up with themselves. The man emptied the sled of the caribou went to Jasmine’s aid. He had a first aid kit and was able to stop Jasmine’s bleeding. The man even managed to clean and close her wound. The he lifted Jasmine into the sled, with Izzy’s help. The man pulled and Izzy pushed trying to get Jasmine away from the fight, leaving the caribou behind. The man said, “Nothing is worth this. I will feed my family in another way.”

Qwade and Ice Lynns just stopped. They had had enough of the birds lead by Sophia. It was just too irritating to continue. They let the man move away with Jasmine and Izzy. Instead of feeling defeated they just started feeding of the second caribou that the man had left behind. As the noise stopped, so did the attack from the sky and Sophia, along with her friends, flew away.

Now Chardon did not know what to do. All was calm, so he decided to just pouncing again on mice that he found under the snow as if nothing at all had happened, Chardon did mutter to Jasmine, “I hope you get better.” Other than that, Chardon just kept to himself doing his thing.

Chapter Eight

It did not take long for the man to direct the sled and his new companions to his camp. There fire and water were available, and everyone just stayed quiet and rested back to health. Of course Izzy was not injured that badly. So after a day the grizzly disappeared from camp. Everyone was sleeping so much they really did not notice. The next morning Izzy returned with a large caribou that she had found. All three feed on it and soon the man took his share and returned to his family. He was very grateful to have survived and to be able to bring food to his family

Izzy said to Jasmine, “We make a good team. We are both away from home. Maybe you would like to travel a bit south of here and find a place to call home with me. What do you think?”

Jasmine answered “Yes, I would like that.”

So when Jasmine was able to travel, the two new friends, with very full stomachs, traveled south and found a forest that suited both of them. It is said that anyone who travels through this forest can hear them hunting and playing together. They take care of each other without hurting any one or anything with out cause. Some say they hear in the forest Jasmine say, “Hey Izzy where are you? Let’s go over to the lake for a drink?”

Then Izzy would be heard responding, “Ok, I am always thirsty and like the fish that live in the lake too.” No one actually saw the snow leopard and the quiet grizzly, but everyone knows they are in the forest and offer no danger to anyone that travels that way.

It is also said that Ice Lynns found her way back across the ice bridge the next winter and made her way home. In any case, she was never heard from again.

The End.
